JOSH MITCHELL-FREY

JOSH MITCHELL-FREY

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR (FOUNDER)

As Monster & Bear's Technical Director, Josh is the gentle soul in charge of planning camera and lighting setups for the majority of Monster & Bear's shoots. As a cinematographer, Josh brings projects to life with a discerning eye for beautiful lighting and a deep knowledge of cutting edge camera tech. He also plays a heavy role in the pre-production process, scoping projects from a technical perspective, and assisting our producers with a technical eye for production logistics.

Having won several awards for his cinematography at the ACS Awards (Australian Cinematographer's Society), all of Monster & Bear's clients are in constant awe of Josh's beautiful eye for cinematography - a combination of gorgeous lighting, framing that tells the right story, and movement that guides the audience through that story.

Josh is well known for collaborating on and shooting short films around Melbourne, and with a wealth of experience on anything from RED, Alexa to good ol’ fashioned 16mm film, Josh continues to apply his creativity in a way that takes Monster & Bear video productions to the next level.
